The lounge is set poolside on an outdoor patio, offering a beautiful, sparkling, and serene evening backdrop. Soon we were finished, and it was time for my wife to get back for the next meeting, and I had to print our boarding passes, so we said farewell to each other, and to Eastside Lounge. The Eastside Lounge is a sophisticated, relaxed location to enjoy a cocktail at Encore. Fortunately, by the time my wife arrived from the Wynn/Encore meeting rooms, her Chard was warm enough to enjoy.
She said that they kept the whites at about 40F, which certainly seemed to be the case here, and around the corner at Jardin too. We then got into a discussion on the serving temp for white wines, and the bartender conjectured that most visitors to Las Vegas have the assumption (incorrect in my mind) that all white wines should be served near freezing – these two glasses were close to that. The bartender looked at me with curiosity in her eyes, and I explained that my wife was joining me, and that if we got her Chardonnay poured now, it would be at a better temp, when she arrived. About the time that arrived (too cold, as per usual), I got a text that my wife’s meeting had gotten out early, and that she would like to join me, so I ordered a second Chardonnay. When the bar was set up, I ordered a glass of the Lioco Sonoma Chardonnay, from the B-T-G wine list. The other bar was not being opened yet, and there was no seating in that center section – just at the bar, where I was seated. In the evenings, part of that area is also set up for live music, and I have even seen folk dancing. Now, the Eastside Lounge is basically a linear pair of bars right beside the casino floor, with an indoor/outdoor seating area in between those, with that outside area being near the Encore pool. She had dropped off the wine list, on one of her many trips past me, so I had already begun some light reading, and planning. the Eastside Lounge in the Wynn, and they have a fair wine list,” so declared “Wine Thirty.” The Eastside Lounge bar was just being set up on the side closest to the reception desk, so I pulled up a stool, and waited for the bartender to declare that she was open. I almost stopped along the way, but then had a thought, “Hey, I like. On a cool and breezy October morning, I had walked from the Encore to the Four Seasons for breakfast, and on the way back, decided to find a glass of wine.
